In a festive display of creativity, KIRO Newsradio's team won the 2023 Bonneville Seattle Gingerbread House competition with a whimsical design featuring a car crash into Santa's house. This annual event encourages participation from various departments, fostering community and creativity in the workplace. The competition featured impressive entries, including the Seattle Sports team's 'Most Classically Beautiful' creation, crafted by Justin Barnes. The Sales, Promotion, and Admin departments received accolades for 'Best Use of Props,' showcasing a KIRO-branded truck and a creatively constructed radio tower. The Engineering department, last year's champions, faced tough competition and finished just shy of the top spot.
The MyNorthwest digital team, in collaboration with the Production and Board Operator departments, was recognized for their 'Most Creative' gingerbread design. This competition not only highlights the festive spirit among employees but also strengthens interdepartmental relationships, showcasing KIRO Newsradio's innovative spirit. As excitement builds for next year's competition, the organization looks forward to defending their title.
