Halloween forecast updates: How much rain will there be this week?

Seattle, WALocal News

Western Washington is bracing for a cool and wet week as two Pacific weather systems move through the region. On Monday, expect scattered showers and occasional sun breaks, with temperatures struggling to reach the 50s and a chance of late-day thunderstorms. As Halloween approaches on Thursday, there is uncertainty regarding the rain's timing, raising concerns for trick-or-treaters about potential showers in the evening. By Friday, the forecast suggests clearing conditions, leading to more sun breaks and temperatures in the upper 40s to mid-50s. Meanwhile, the mountains are set to receive their first significant snowfall of the season, with higher elevations possibly accumulating between two and eight inches.

KIRO Newsradio's meteorologist Ted Buehner emphasizes the unpredictability of the weather, particularly for Halloween night, advising residents to prepare for cool temperatures in the 45-50 degree range during trick-or-treating hours. This changing weather pattern reflects the transition into fall, affecting local festivities and mountain conditions.
