Seattle, WALocal News

Severe weather in Western Washington has resulted in significant power outages, affecting over 50,000 customers at the peak of the event. Utility companies, including Snohomish PUD and Puget Sound Energy, are engaged in restoration efforts. By Tuesday afternoon, the number of customers without power had decreased to fewer than 850, demonstrating the effectiveness of the utility crews' rapid response. The outages were primarily caused by high winds that damaged power lines and infrastructure. Snohomish PUD is focusing on restoring service in cities such as Arlington, while PSE has also reported a reduction in outages across its service areas.

This incident highlights the challenges utilities face during severe weather and the importance of their timely restoration efforts.
