Wind advisory ends after gusts reached 50 mph in Western WA
A wind advisory for Western Washington was in effect from 4 p. m. Tuesday to 4 a. m. Wednesday, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The advisory warned of strong winds and heavy rain, with peak gusts recorded at 66 mph in Hoquiam and 54 mph in Olympia. Over 9,500 customers lost power, particularly in Lewis and Mason counties, although this number dropped to around 4,000 by mid-morning. Meteorologists expect more rain onshore, tapering off by Friday, with a risk of isolated thunderstorms along Pacific beaches and potential snowy conditions in mountain passes later in the week.
