WSDOT to address State Route 7's growth spurt

Seattle, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is addressing traffic congestion on State Route 7, which currently accommodates around 28,000 vehicles daily. This multi-year project will focus on a six-mile stretch from the Roy Y to 267th Street, featuring road repaving and the construction of four roundabouts to enhance safety and efficiency. Mark Krulish, a communications consultant for WSDOT, emphasized the significance of community feedback for the project's success. The 'Complete Streets' initiative aims to create a roadway that caters to all users, including cyclists and pedestrians. The public open house for gathering input will continue until November 26, allowing residents to share their concerns and preferences.

While a construction timeline is not yet set, WSDOT is committed to incorporating local feedback into the final designs.
