Four suspects escape after crashing carjacked vehicle

Seattle, WALocal News

Four armed suspects are currently at large after carjacking a woman's Subaru Forester in Seattle's University District early Friday morning. The incident occurred when the suspects approached a 35-year-old woman, with one suspect pointing a gun at her while another threatened her. Although the victim was not physically harmed, she was understandably shaken. Law enforcement quickly initiated a pursuit after the stolen vehicle was spotted on I-5, leading to a high-speed chase that ended with the suspects crashing the car in Burien. After abandoning the vehicle, the suspects fled on foot, prompting an extensive search involving local police, K9 units, and the King County Sheriff's Guardian One helicopter.

A handgun was found inside the car, and investigators are working to determine its ownership. Authorities are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspects, believed to be male and likely in their late teens or early 20s. In response to this incident, the Seattle Police Department has shared safety tips to help prevent carjackings, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and awareness in public spaces.
