Shooting in Seattle's International District injures five people

In a concerning incident early Saturday morning, five people were shot at a hookah lounge in Seattle's Chinatown-International District, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement. The shooting was reported just before 4:00 a. m. near South Lane Street and 8th Ave. S.

Although officers found no victims at the scene, several individuals soon sought treatment at Harborview Medical Center, with injuries ranging from stable to serious. Notably, one male victim required emergency surgery. Seattle police are leading the investigation, with detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit involved. They have recovered multiple shell casings from the scene, indicating a serious gunfight. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the community's safety as a top priority.
