Seattle, WALocal News

Seattle police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered near encampments under the Pike and Pine overpasses of I-5. A man visiting a friend at the encampment area reported the body around 12:30 PM on Wednesday. Upon arrival, Seattle Fire confirmed the death and noted signs of suspicious circumstances. Police taped off the area surrounding Plymouth Pillars Park to gather evidence. The King County Medical Examiner is tasked with identifying the victim and determining the cause of death.

This investigation follows another incident earlier this month near an encampment where the victim died from head trauma and acute drug intoxication. Encampment areas in Seattle have been under scrutiny due to recent incidents, raising concerns about safety and drug-related issues. Authorities are focusing on understanding the circumstances surrounding these deaths to prevent future occurrences.
