County will stick with Connections to operate its next Crisis Care Center set to open on Capitol Hill

Seattle, WALocal News

King County has selected Connections Health Solutions to operate a new Crisis Care Center at Broadway and Union, slated to open by the end of 2027. The center will be housed in the former Polyclinic medical building and will offer 24/7 mental health services, including crisis stabilization beds and observation units for patients. This decision follows a competitive selection process, highlighting Connections' strong track record in crisis care. In response to public safety concerns, the county plans to engage the community in the design process and implement a Good Neighbor Policy. Renovations are set to begin in 2026, backed by a $56 million budget approved by voters.

The facility aims to provide a supportive environment for those in crisis, with input from individuals who have experienced similar challenges. Additionally, the Seattle Police Department will perform a safety assessment to ensure the center and its surroundings are secure. Community meetings are also planned to maintain open communication with local residents and stakeholders.
