Police make arrest in September deadly shooting at 10th and Pike

Seattle, WALocal News

Seattle police arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the September shooting of Robert Fleeks on Capitol Hill. The suspect was apprehended in Burien after a foot chase, with police relying heavily on security video and traffic camera footage for identification. Fleeks, 26, was shot three times while sitting in his vehicle shortly after purchasing pizza on September 17. Investigators gathered evidence showing the assailant approached Fleeks' Tahoe with three accomplices before the shooting occurred. Notably, the police tracked the getaway vehicle, a black Dodge Charger, using its misaligned headlights and license plate information.

The suspect remains in custody on $2 million bail, pending charges as the King County Prosecutor awaits further investigation documents. Fleeks' family has expressed their desire for justice as they await legal proceedings, while the investigation into another recent homicide in the area continues. The October killing of 18-year-old Jaydon Jameson remains unsolved, highlighting ongoing concerns about violence in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
