No updates from SPD in PikePine deadly shootings

Seattle, WALocal News

The Seattle Police Department continues its investigation into two fatal shootings on Capitol Hill, involving 18-year-old Jaydon Jameson and 26-year-old Robert Fleeks. Jameson was fatally shot on October 9 at Broadway and Pike, while Fleeks was killed on September 17 inside his vehicle. Both victims’ families are calling for justice, underscoring the profound impact of these losses on their communities. A family member of Jameson remarked on the wider emotional toll on the Indigenous community, highlighting the interconnectedness of loss. Fleeks was reportedly on Capitol Hill to pick up pizza when he was shot, with his mother expressing sorrow over the impending birth of his child.

The Seattle Police Department has sought public assistance in solving these cases but has not provided updates or made arrests. In response to ongoing safety concerns, City Council representative Joy Hollingsworth introduced a five-point plan aimed at improving safety in the area. This plan builds on previous initiatives prompted by other unsolved homicides, including that of Breanna Simmons.
