A transformer fire at E Aloha and Harvard Ave has left over 6,000 customers in Capitol Hill without power following an explosion Saturday night. The Seattle Fire Department responded promptly at 7:10 PM to control the situation. Initially, more than 700 customers were affected, primarily in the Broadway area north of Roy. As the night progressed, strong winds and heavy rain exacerbated the conditions, leading to further outages. Seattle City Light is actively assessing and addressing the widespread power loss.
