911 Pedestrian hit on E Olive Way by reported DWI driver

A pedestrian was struck by a driver on E Olive Way early Saturday morning, leading to hospitalization in stable condition and the driver’s arrest for suspected DWI. Seattle Fire and Police responded to the crash around 12:10 AM, where significant damage occurred. On Wednesday night, a drive-by shooting near Broadway and Fir left blood at the scene, but no victims were found; police are following leads on a possible suspect. In a separate incident, a resident set fire to his room at the Bertha Pitts Campbell Place, causing extensive damage due to sprinkler activation, but no injuries were reported. The facility, which opened in 2022, provides supportive housing for those who have experienced homelessness.

Police also apprehended a suspect in a strong-arm robbery at an AMPM station, where he attempted to fight staff for stolen items. Lastly, a fire at DESC's Evans House resulted in damage to a sixth-floor unit without injuries, with investigators unable to determine a cause. These incidents contribute to ongoing concerns about safety and crime in the Capitol Hill area.
