TOASTED, Seattles premier halal bagel cafe, is coming to Capitol Hill

Seattle, WALocal News

TOASTED, a halal bagel cafe, will establish a new location in Capitol Hill, Seattle, at 1300 E Pike. Business partners Jaafar Altameemi and Murat Akyuz, who met in an entrepreneurship class at the University of Washington, currently operate several successful cafes in the region. The new site, situated below the Solis building, has remained unoccupied for several years after previous plans for an escape room cafe fell through due to the pandemic. With an emphasis on Middle Eastern hospitality and Mediterranean flavors, TOASTED aims to contribute to the local food culture. The Capitol Hill area has seen a rise in Middle Eastern culinary ventures, including Mintish and Open Form, enhancing the neighborhood's diverse dining options.

TOASTED will also join the local bagel scene, which includes newer establishments like Mt. Bagel. The anticipated opening in 2026 reflects the resilience of local businesses in adapting to post-pandemic challenges. More information can be found at toastedseattle. com.
