World School threat arrest and QFC fentanyl bust highlight safety issues in Capitol Hill

A 60-year-old man was arrested in Capitol Hill after assaulting a school security guard and threatening teenagers with a gun near World School. The suspect, reportedly intoxicated, forcefully entered the school grounds and later confronted two teens in a parked car, brandishing a knife and a gun. Officers recovered video evidence of his actions and found two firearms during a subsequent search of his residence. In a separate incident, police apprehended a 27-year-old man smoking fentanyl outside a QFC, recovering a loaded gun during the arrest. This suspect, recently released from prison, had multiple felony convictions and was wanted on a $4,000 warrant for public fighting.

Both arrests reflect ongoing challenges related to drug use and public safety in the Capitol Hill area. Local authorities are actively addressing these issues to enhance community safety. Animal control was called to secure the man's dogs following his arrest.
