911 SFD handles smoky Richmark Label dumpster fire

Seattle Fire Department responded to a smoky dumpster fire near Cal Anderson Park on Sunday morning, extinguishing the flames before they could damage the adjacent Richmark Label factory. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 8:20 AM, with no reported injuries and limited damage. In a separate incident, police responded to a knife assault outside a 13th Ave apartment building in Yesler Terrace at 12:35 AM. The victim suffered cuts to the hand and chest during a confrontation with a known suspect, who fled the scene before police arrived. Officers identified the suspect but did not make any arrests.

On Saturday night, gunfire was reported near 19th and Alder, resulting in damage to a vehicle but no injuries. Neighbors did not witness the shooting, but a vehicle was seen speeding from the scene. Police continue to investigate both incidents as part of ongoing community safety efforts.
