Mintish opened in Capitol Hill, transforming a former Bauhaus location into a Levantine-inspired coffee shop. Owners Mahmoud Farajallah and Abdullah Alabed, both Palestinian-American, seek to connect the community through their food and culture. The menu features items like za’atar sandwiches and traditional teas, evoking memories of home. The brothers received substantial support from local residents during their soft opening, including food and encouragement, creating a welcoming atmosphere. They undertook the renovation themselves, showcasing their commitment to the community.

The cafe holds special significance, representing their cultural heritage amid current conflicts. Farajallah noted, “As a Palestinian, I…” highlighting the emotional weight of their venture. Mintish aims to be more than a business, seeking to foster understanding through shared experiences.
