Unicorn Staff Fire Relief Fund will help artists, bartenders, security, kitchen crew, and management while repairs continue

Seattle, WALocal News

The Unicorn bar in Capitol Hill is closed due to significant water and smoke damage from a fire in a neighboring building, which caused over $175,000 in losses. The electrical fire, occurring on July 30, has left many employees, including drag artists, bartenders, and kitchen staff, in a state of uncertainty. A community fundraiser has been launched to provide financial support to these workers while the bar undergoes repairs. The fundraiser's organizers assert that all contributions will directly benefit the staff as they await the bar's reopening. The adjacent Postal Options business, which also suffered damage, has permanently closed after briefly seeking a new location.

The Unicorn's management is committed to restoring the space and ensuring that their team is supported during this difficult time. Local community support is essential for the staff and the bar's eventual return to the vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood. The ongoing situation highlights the broader challenges faced by local businesses in the wake of unexpected disasters.
