Capitol Hills Post Options and Central Districts The Postman are permanently closing

Seattle, WALocal News

Post Options and The Postman, both neighborhood mailbox and business centers, are permanently closing, affecting local entrepreneurs in Capitol Hill and the Central District. Owners Veti Cmoesongrsi and Nongnuch Paungpornsri made the difficult decision to close Post Options after unsuccessful efforts to rebuild from a damaging fire in July. They expressed emotional exhaustion and a lack of resources necessary to restart their operations. Similarly, KeAnna Rose Pickett announced the closure of The Postman, citing personal loss and increased crime in the area as insurmountable challenges. These closures reflect a broader trend affecting small businesses in the community.

Cmoesongrsi noted that larger competitors, like UPS Stores, continue to dominate, but there remains room for smaller operations due to their customer service and location. As the neighborhood adjusts, Postal Plus may benefit from increased patronage. The hardships faced by these businesses underscore the challenges of sustaining small enterprises in a changing environment.
