A woman sustained serious injuries during a random attack in Volunteer Park on Friday evening when a man struck her multiple times with a large stick. The assault occurred just after 5:30 PM, with the assailant described as a white male in his 50s, having a large gray beard and possibly wearing a red beanie. The victim suffered a significant head laceration and required medical attention from Seattle Fire. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot, prompting a police search in the area. Officers noted that the suspect was also characterized by having a single upper tooth.

This incident raises alarms about safety in public spaces, particularly in popular parks. In addition to this attack, police are responding to various incidents across Seattle, including a recent road rage shooting.
