911 Police say 14th Ave Urban League office targeted in aborted armed robbery

Seattle, WALocal News

Seattle police reported an attempted armed robbery at the Urban League office, where a woman allegedly threatened a janitor with a handgun. The janitor successfully misled her about access to the office, allowing him to escape and report the incident. Police conducted a K9 search but could not locate the suspect. In a separate incident at a Seattle Housing Authority building, officers responded to threats made by a suspect against staff. When police attempted to arrest the individual, the suspect resisted, prompting the use of a taser, which failed to subdue them.

Officers maintained communication until backup arrived, leading to the suspect's safe apprehension. No injuries were reported in either incident, but both cases reflect the challenges police face in addressing threats in community settings. These events underscore the need for ongoing safety measures in urban neighborhoods.
