4 people rescued from boat fire at Everett Marina Cause under investigation

Seattle, WALocal News

A boat fire at the Everett Marina's fuel dock prompted a swift response from fire crews on Friday morning. The fire broke out on a 32-foot vessel carrying 300 gallons of fuel, leading to the evacuation of four individuals and a dog. Although no injuries have been reported, two people were evaluated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the flames, while the cause of the incident remains under investigation. Authorities confirmed there is no apparent fuel leak, and the Department of Ecology and the Coast Guard are on their way to conduct further assessments.

The Port of Everett, which opened the new fuel dock on June 12 as part of an $8. 1 million capital investment, has closed the dock until repairs can be completed. Officials have urged boaters to avoid the area as firefighting efforts continue. This incident raises concerns about safety and environmental impacts at the marina.
