Now lighting up mornings on Capitol Hill Fuels Broadway counter and new starts for Bauhaus and Overcast

Seattle, WALocal News

Capitol Hill's coffee scene is undergoing a transformation with the reopening of several cafes at the start of 2024. Fuel has revitalized the former Vivace walk-up counter on Broadway, launching its new location after Vivace's closure due to staffing challenges. Bauhaus has returned to the neighborhood, reopening in December after a remodel, and has added Hog Island Hoagie as a lunch option, signaling a resurgence for the cafe. Overcast has relocated its E Union counter to 12th Ave, occupying a space previously held by Karachi Cowboys, and owner Jonathan Pak expressed excitement about the new location. The revival of these establishments follows a difficult period for Capitol Hill's coffee scene, marked by the pandemic's impact and the closures of significant coffee spaces.

Local business owners are optimistic about the future, and additional cafes are set to open soon, including Seasmith and Black Coffee Northwest. These developments indicate a positive trend for coffee culture in Capitol Hill, enhancing options for residents and visitors alike. The local community is eager to support the renewed cafe offerings in the area.
