911 Broadway gunfire, Cal Anderson BB gun robbery, Amazon driver armed hold-up UPDATE Montlake swatting

Seattle, WALocal News

A false 911 call reporting a shooting in Montlake prompted a significant emergency response from Seattle Police and Fire on Monday night. Officers quickly ascertained that no shooting had occurred and are now investigating the hoax call, which could result in felony charges due to strengthened state laws against false reporting. Over the weekend, police also investigated gunfire following a large fight near Broadway, which involved multiple people but resulted in no immediate arrests. One suspect was apprehended for domestic violence stemming from the incident. Additionally, a robbery involving a group of juveniles armed with a BB gun took place at Cal Anderson Park, where the group assaulted the victim before fleeing with his belongings.

An Amazon delivery driver reported being robbed at gunpoint earlier this month, further underscoring concerns about rising crime in the area. Authorities are actively addressing these violent incidents as they impact community safety. The series of events highlights the need for ongoing vigilance and effective policing strategies to maintain public safety.
