Capitol Hill Block Party 2025 grows up

Seattle, WALocal News

The Capitol Hill Block Party will introduce a new two-day, 21+ format this weekend, aiming to enhance overall festival quality. Producers are optimistic about assessing this change ahead of the festival's 30th edition in 2028. The 2025 lineup features notable acts such as Thundercat and Porter Robinson, marking a shift to a more modest offering than last year. Tickets are still available at $147. 64, with an anticipated attendance of around 10,000.

The festival has transformed from a free community gathering into a major local business, backed by local venues and eateries. Producers emphasize the importance of preserving the festival's local character while welcoming attendees from outside the area. Despite downsizing, activities outside the festival will continue, with neighboring venues planning free DJ sets. Previous concerns regarding the festival's impact on the neighborhood have faded, as it remains a staple summer event.
