The incident began affecting around 4,400 customers, prompting Seattle City Light to de-energize the entire vault system for safety. The Seattle Fire Department responded to reports of smoke at Fremont Avenue North and North 107th Street but found no active fire. By 2:54 a. m.

Thursday, power was restored to more than 21,000 customers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the response was scaled down as Seattle City Light managed the situation. The fire's cause remains under investigation, highlighting the need for updates as information is gathered. Seattle City Light will provide further information as the investigation unfolds.
