2025 sit in a park watching free music, dancing, and movies season is underway around Capitol Hill

The Capitol Hill Block Party music festival kicks off this weekend, marking its 2025 edition with a two-day celebration in Pike/Pine. Concurrently, the 15th Ave E Patio Party offers residents a chance to enjoy local food and entertainment from noon to 5 PM on Saturday. The summer event calendar includes free movie screenings at Cal Anderson Park, starting with "Shrek" on July 18, and at Freeway Park, featuring classics like "Raiders of the Lost Ark. " Every Thursday, the Summer Series at Volunteer Park Amphitheater will host free concerts until August 14, promoting local artists and community spirit. Additionally, Dancing Til Dusk events will provide free music and dance lessons at various parks.
