911 Cal Anderson rape investigation, pedestrians injured in Broadway hit and run

In a series of incidents over the weekend, police responded to a reported sexual assault in Cal Anderson Park late Friday night, where officers found the victim on Broadway. The victim described the attack occurring in a tent, but the suspect was not apprehended. On Sunday night, a hit-and-run on Broadway injured two pedestrians, with both victims treated for minor injuries. Police also arrested multiple suspects involved in a beating outside Dick's Drive-in, including one armed with a handgun who was tasered during his apprehension. In another incident, a domestic dispute led to a 28-year-old man stabbing his mother near 8th and Madison, resulting in his arrest after a foot chase.

During the pursuit, he discarded a backpack that contained the weapon used in the stabbing. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Police are continuing investigations into these incidents, highlighting ongoing concerns about safety in the area.
