Suspect arrested in SEA airport security threat

A suspect was arrested at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Saturday after making threats aboard an Alaska Airlines flight. The FAA enforced a ground stop that led to the cancellation of six flights and delays, affecting travel plans for numerous passengers. During the incident, 68 passengers and four crew members were safely deplaned and underwent additional security checks after being returned to the terminal. Alaska Airlines reported that the threat was directed at a flight attendant during taxiing. Port Police and Fire officials are currently investigating, and two runways were temporarily shut down due to the situation.

The ground stop was set to expire at 2:45 p. m. , as authorities managed rising gate hold and taxi delays. Transportation officials have not yet revealed details regarding the nature of the threats. This incident highlights ongoing security concerns in aviation, prompting increased scrutiny and response protocols.
