New Sea-Tac Airport security checkpoint opens June 6

SeaTac, WALocal News

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) will open a new TSA security checkpoint on June 6 to help reduce congestion on the upper departures level. The new Checkpoint 1, located at the far south end of the terminal on the Baggage Claim level, aims to streamline the security process for travelers without checked bags. It offers convenient access for those dropped off at the arrivals drive, particularly benefiting those flying out of the S and A gates. This checkpoint will feature five screening lanes and will display over 20 pieces from SEA's expanding public art collection. Travelers with TSA Pre-check are encouraged to use checkpoints 2 and 5.

Additionally, a coffee station is planned for the area, although its opening date has yet to be announced. SEA officials determined that the upper levels lacked space for another checkpoint, prompting the transformation of the lower-level area. The airport continues to prioritize improving traveler experience and efficiency.
