Bellevue, WA police investigate attempted kidnapping

Bellevue police are actively investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred in the Lake Hills neighborhood on Friday afternoon. The incident involved a 16-year-old girl who was approached by a man after she exited a Metro bus, which he had also been riding. Fortunately, a passerby intervened before the situation escalated, prompting the suspect to flee the area. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after 4 p. m.

and conducted a search with a K9 unit, but the suspect was not found. Described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, the suspect was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and gray shoes or boots. The police are urging the community to assist in identifying the man, emphasizing the importance of public vigilance in such incidents. This incident raises concerns about safety in public transportation areas and highlights the need for community cooperation in ensuring safety.
