Flying out of Seattle getting easier after cyberattack, baggage claim monitors still down
SeaTac Airport is steadily recovering from a cyberattack that caused significant travel disruptions. As technology is restored, most airlines can now print boarding passes and bag tags, which eases the travel process for passengers. However, the lack of functioning flight information and baggage monitors continues to create confusion for arrivals, with passengers depending on announcements and assistance from airport staff to navigate baggage claim. Traveler Andrew Lukowiak from San Diego expressed concerns about locating additional bags without visual aids. Airport spokesperson Perry Cooper confirmed that many international carriers have resumed normal operations, alleviating some operational stress.
With the busy Labor Day weekend approaching, the airport is focused on ensuring a smoother travel experience. Travelers are advised to remain patient as the restoration of all services continues.
