Neighbors pulled family from smashed SUV after crash involving Pierce County, WA Major

SeaTac, WALocal News

Major Chad Dickerson, a high-ranking official in the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, faces serious charges after a July 12 crash in Graham, Washington. Witnesses reported that the loud impact led many to believe a tree had fallen, highlighting the severity of the collision. Dickerson's truck struck a family SUV, which contained three young children, a pregnant mother, and a grandmother, causing it to roll over. A neighbor, named Chris, played a crucial role in helping the family escape the wreckage, demonstrating community support in a time of crisis. Dickerson is suspected of driving under the influence, having allegedly admitted to drinking earlier in the day before refusing a sobriety test.

The sheriff's office initially responded but requested the Washington State Patrol take over the investigation upon realizing Dickerson was involved. As of now, he remains on administrative leave while the investigation continues, and he is out on bail. This incident raises concerns about public safety and accountability among law enforcement officials.
