Seattle airport Fourth of July travel period kicks off

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport braces for a surge in travelers during the Fourth of July period, expecting more than 74,000 passengers on June 30. The TSA advises that the busiest time at the airport will occur between 5 a. m. and noon, with 9 a. m.

being the peak hour. Nationally, July 7 is projected to be the season's busiest travel day, with agents screening 3 million passengers across the country. Last year, TSA recorded a similar spike, screening over 72,900 travelers at SEA on June 23. Travelers are urged to arrive early and be prepared for all steps of the air travel process. This year's Independence Day falls on a Friday, intensifying the travel rush.

The TSA representative emphasized that Thursday through Monday are the busiest days at SEA during the summer months. Familiarizing oneself with TSA guidelines can lead to a smoother travel experience.
