Mayor Lurie Kicks Off Summer 2025 Opportunities For All, Black 2 San Francisco Programs
Mayor Daniel Lurie launched the Opportunities for All (OFA) and Black 2 San Francisco (B2SF) summer internship initiatives to enhance career development opportunities for youth in San Francisco. Administered by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, the programs aim to connect young people with meaningful, paid internships, contributing to the city’s economic recovery. Since 2019, OFA has placed nearly 15,000 interns, with nearly 2,000 placements expected this summer. B2SF, in its second year, will host 70 participants, many from historically Black colleges and universities, fostering connections to San Francisco’s economy and culture. Mayor Lurie highlighted the vital role of youth in building a city for everyone, reinforcing the need for accessible job experiences.
The initiatives are funded through public-private partnerships, drawing from city funds and philanthropic support. Participants will have access to training and professional development, including financial literacy and networking opportunities. The Japanese Community Youth Council serves as an anchor partner, managing intern applications and materials.
