San Francisco, CALocal News

Richard Jue, Chief of Staff for the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, faces charges for a hit-and-run incident involving a city-owned vehicle. The alleged incident occurred on March 4, 2025, when Jue struck a Tesla parked in the Ingleside Police District while off-duty. He was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run and providing false information, booked into a county jail, and released on a $7,500 bond. Sheriff Paul Miyamoto emphasized the office's commitment to ethical conduct among its members. The case has been sent to the District Attorney's office, with Jue currently on paid administrative leave.

Notably, Jue has served thirty years with the SFPD before his current role. Sources suggest the incident may have been captured by the Tesla's surveillance cameras. Internal tensions may arise due to Jue’s dual role as a civilian with law enforcement privileges.
