Mayor Lurie and Another Planet Entertainment Announce Second Year of Downtown Free Concerts

San Francisco, CALocal News

Mayor Daniel Lurie announced the return of a free concert series in downtown San Francisco, set to launch on June 14 at Embarcadero Plaza. The event, featuring the Back 2 Baysics series with Dirtybird, aims to reaffirm the downtown area as a hub for live music and entertainment. Last year's concerts drew tens of thousands of attendees, significantly increasing foot traffic and benefiting local businesses. Lurie emphasized the importance of arts and culture in revitalizing the city, stating, "Our arts and culture are helping to drive San Francisco’s comeback. " His administration has focused on enhancing public safety and transforming downtown into a vibrant neighborhood.

In addition to the concert series, Lurie has established a Police Department Hospitality Zone Task Force to ensure safety in key areas year-round. The new concert series is expected to build on last year's success, which nearly tripled foot traffic in Embarcadero Plaza. This initiative reflects Lurie’s commitment to fostering a lively downtown atmosphere and supporting the local economy.
