Mayor Lurie Invites Proposals for New 100 Affordable Housing in East Cut Neighborhood

San Francisco, CALocal News

Mayor Lurie announced a request for proposals to develop 300 affordable housing units in San Francisco's East Cut neighborhood, focusing on low-income families and seniors. The project will also include a community-serving commercial space, enhancing local amenities. Lurie stressed the administration's dedication to making San Francisco more affordable while revitalizing downtown. OCII Executive Director Thor Kaslofsky noted the importance of this project in creating job opportunities and fostering community development. This initiative builds on recent legislation aimed at increasing housing availability in the area.

Block 4 West, where the development will take place, is part of a larger plan to create vibrant neighborhoods. Previously, thousands of new housing units have been developed in the Transbay area under OCII's leadership. The project reflects ongoing efforts to address the housing crisis and support residents in San Francisco.
