Ross Dress for Less to open second location in downtown next month

San Francisco, CALocal News

Ross Dress for Less will open a second downtown store at 901 Market St. on July 19, close to its flagship location that has served customers for nearly 40 years. This move comes amid a slow recovery for downtown San Francisco, which has seen many retail closures since the pandemic. The new store is part of a larger nationwide expansion strategy by the discount retailer. Ross will commemorate the opening with a donation to the Tenderloin Clubhouse, part of the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco.

CEO Jim Conroy stated that the company recognized an opportunity to deliver more value to the area while others have shut down. The new location is projected to create 90 new jobs for the local community. The original Ross store at 799 Market St. remains one of the most visited in the company's fleet of over 1,800 stores. Ross will operate daily from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm.
