SFPD Chief Bill Scott reflects on the last 8 years on last day of job
Bill Scott concluded his role as San Francisco Police Chief on Friday after serving for more than eight years. His law enforcement career spans 27 years with the Los Angeles Police Department before his appointment in San Francisco. Scott will now become the inaugural Chief of Police for the Metro Transit Community Public Safety Department in Los Angeles, tasked with establishing the department and ensuring safety for significant events, including the 2028 Olympics. During his time in San Francisco, he highlighted the importance of his interactions with the community, stating, "Did I make a difference, a positive difference in their lives given my role?
