Two Dead After Four Separate Shootings In Oakland, Including Triple Shooting Near Fox Theater
Four shootings over the weekend in Oakland resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries, underscoring the city's ongoing gun violence crisis. The first incident occurred around 1:15 a. m. near the Fox Theater, where suspects fired dozens of rounds, injuring three people, including a 20-year-old San Francisco man in critical condition. Later that night, a 19-year-old Fresno woman was fatally shot by occupants of a slow-moving vehicle on International Boulevard.
A third homicide involved a 30-year-old Oakland man, who was shot shortly before midnight in the Uptown district, with over a dozen shell casings found at the scene. Additionally, a non-fatal shooting injured a 44-year-old man in a dispute on Alice Street. Oakland now reports 31 homicides this year, an increase from 28 at the same point last year. Police have not released suspect information, leaving the community on edge. The surge in violence reflects broader issues of safety and public concern in the Bay Area.
