SFPD Arrests 21-Year-Old Suspect In Mission District Murder of Teen
Trayvon Williams, 21, was arrested on Wednesday in Novato in connection with the May 2 murder of 19-year-old Elijah Bates in San Francisco's Mission District. The shooting occurred around 12:48 PM at a home on 26th Street near Alabama Street. Williams faces charges of murder and first-degree robbery, and his arrest followed a coordinated effort involving San Francisco and Novato police, as well as the Marin County SWAT team. This incident adds to a troubling trend, as it represents the sixth homicide in San Francisco for 2025, a sharp increase compared to just 11 at the same time last year. Police reported that two additional apparent homicides occurred earlier in the week, raising the total to eight.
The investigation remains open, and authorities are actively seeking further information from the public. Anyone with knowledge of the case is urged to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411. The recent rise in violence has raised concerns among community members regarding safety in the area.
