The incident unfolded around 12:50 am on the 2500 block of 17th Street, where the suspects approached a 23-year-old male victim. They asked if he wanted to purchase narcotics and, upon his refusal, demanded his wallet and cellphone. In an effort to escape, the victim defended himself, leading one of the suspects to shoot him. He was subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
