Three Suspects Sought After Attempted Robbery and Shooting on 17th Street

San Francisco police are searching for three male suspects connected to a violent attempted robbery that occurred in the Mission District early Wednesday. The incident unfolded around 12:50 am on the 2500 block of 17th Street, where the suspects approached a 23-year-old male victim. They asked if he wanted to purchase narcotics and, upon his refusal, demanded his wallet and cellphone. In an effort to escape, the victim defended himself, leading one of the suspects to shoot him. He was subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The SFPD has not released any suspect descriptions, and officials urge anyone with information to contact their tip line. Such violent crime incidents raise concerns about safety and community well-being in the area. Ongoing investigations aim to bring the suspects to justice.
