You May See Drizzle This Weekend, But Most of the Rain Will Miss the Bay Area

San Francisco, CALocal News

A weak winter storm will track down the California coast, with the Central Coast expected to receive the majority of scattered showers starting Friday night. San Francisco may see brief drizzle on Saturday morning but is likely to remain mostly dry through the weekend. The storm, described by meteorologists as a "cut-off low pressure system," will linger off the coast, possibly creating unstable air that could lead to thunderstorms in the Monterey area. In the Sierra, higher elevations might receive three to six inches of late-season snow, providing a brief burst of winter weather. Rain accumulation in San Francisco is forecasted to be minimal, with totals expected in the low tenths of an inch.

The Weather Channel reports a 50% chance of rain on Sunday, suggesting some uncertainty in the forecast. Overnight lows will remain around 50 degrees, with a slight dip to 48 degrees early Saturday morning. The forecast hints at more springlike weather returning by Monday.
