Fancy Cupertino Whole Foods Shut Down, Called a Threat to Health and Safety Amidst Vermin Infestation

San Francisco, CALocal News

Santa Clara County health officials ordered the Cupertino Whole Foods to close due to a vermin infestation, highlighting an imminent threat to public health. An inspection revealed rodent droppings in various areas of the store and sightings of pests at eight different points. As a result, the grocery store's permit to operate has been temporarily suspended. Whole Foods confirmed the closure and committed to thorough repairs to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Earlier this month, the store's deli and bakery were also closed for similar contamination issues.

The company apologized for the inconvenience to customers but did not provide a timeline for reopening. The store, located at 20955 Stevens Creek Boulevard, is known for its premium grocery offerings. The incident raises concerns about food safety in local establishments.
