Thursday Morning What's Up Business School Move Could Mean Ouster of Museum

San Francisco, CALocal News

The Wharton School of Business plans to vacate its 35,000-square-foot West Coast campus on the Embarcadero, seeking a larger space potentially at The Cube located at Montgomery and California. If successful, this move would force the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco to relocate just months after its opening in October 2024. In a separate development, a smash-and-grab robbery occurred early Thursday at a 7-11 in Oakland's Grand Lake neighborhood, where an SUV without license plates was used to smash the storefront windows. Following the incident, police responded to a nearby location on Grand Avenue and Mandela Parkway. Additionally, Reverend Paul Trudeau of City Hope is working on a plan to convert the Civic Center Inn into community housing, addressing local housing needs.

Despite efforts to preserve the historic United Artists Theater in Berkeley, the city council approved its demolition for a new apartment complex. These events underscore significant shifts in both business and cultural spaces in the San Francisco area.
