No more food truck Al Pastor Papi to open downtown S.F. taqueria this summer

San Francisco, CALocal News

Al Pastor Papi will open a new taqueria in downtown San Francisco this summer, marking a shift from its successful food truck operation. Owner Miguel Escobedo, who previously closed the truck in January after seven years of operation, was approached by the Vacant to Vibrant program, which offers support for established brands to set up in the area. The new location at 232 O’Farrell St. is ten times larger than the truck and was previously a Chipotle, requiring only minor modifications. Initially, Escobedo will focus on lunch services, targeting local offices and hotels with quick grab-and-go meals.

Weekend brunch is also in the works, featuring traditional Mexican dishes and live DJs, enhancing the dining experience. Escobedo, who has a rich history in the restaurant industry, expressed eagerness to embark on this new venture. He emphasized the importance of providing authentic al pastor to the community. The restaurant's opening is anticipated as a significant addition to the local food landscape.
