A tragic shooting occurred Monday evening near the Powell Street BART station in San Francisco, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Leaotis. The incident unfolded at the intersection of Mason and Turk streets just before 5:30 PM, and despite immediate medical attention, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect flee into the Warfield Theater, where police quickly apprehended him. The police have initiated a homicide investigation, although the motive for the shooting has not yet been determined. Family members were present at the scene, with Leaotis's mother expressing her devastation, stating, "My baby over there laying on the ground.

" She highlighted his role as a devoted father to a young daughter. This incident marks the fifth homicide in San Francisco this year, raising alarms about rising crime rates in the city. Local officials, including Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, emphasized the need for a fully staffed police department to enhance public safety.
