One Injured In Afternoon Shooting on SF's Fillmore Street

San Francisco, CALocal News

A shooting on Fillmore Street in San Francisco on Monday left one man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 4:58 PM, prompting police to respond quickly to the scene near the shuttered Fillmore District Safeway. The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Reports from the Citizen app suggested the presence of another individual with a gun several blocks away at Pierce and Ellis streets. As of now, law enforcement has not released details about any suspects, and no arrests have been made.

This shooting is particularly alarming, considering that the last incident in the immediate area was a deadly shootout in 2019. Additionally, the broader Western Addition neighborhood has seen sporadic violence, including a domestic incident in November 2024. Community members are encouraged to assist the police by contacting the SFPD with any information.
