San Franciscos newest night market is coming to Valencia Street
The Mission District in San Francisco is poised to unveil its new night market on May 8, 2025, transforming a three-block section of Valencia Street into a vibrant gathering space. This monthly event will occur every second Thursday from 5 p. m. to 10 p. m.
, allowing attendees to enjoy local food, music, and art in a pedestrian-friendly environment. Local businesses, including Blondie’s cocktail bar, will host live performances, while restaurants set up tents to serve food to visitors. The initiative, driven by the Civic Joy Fund and local merchants, aims to revitalize foot traffic in the area, which has seen a significant decline in recent years. Manny Yekutiel, a key figure in this effort, emphasized the need for innovative solutions to attract people back to Valencia. The night market is part of a broader strategy to enhance San Francisco's nightlife, with expectations for the event to run from May through October and possibly continue for two years.
The market will also benefit from new legislation that designates certain business zones as entertainment areas, allowing for alcohol sales to pedestrians. As one of nearly a dozen night markets in the city, Valencia LIVE hopes to become a staple in the community's social scene.
